Former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, has said his generation, including himself, has failed Nigerians.
Speaking at the first Bauchi SDGs Youth Summit 2024 held on Tuesday, Mr. Mohammed urged Nigerian youths to save the economy.
He said his generation has failed to provide the leadership that Nigerians deserve.
“My generation failed. It seems like my generation doesn’t have the answers anymore.
“Allah loves Nigeria. That is why every time He gives my generation a chance, we drive Nigeria to the cliff and Allah brings it back. We will take over again. “It means doing something the same way and expecting a different result. Some people say that’s the definition of insanity,” he said.
The former Bauchi governor revealed that there was a planned investment in the youth population during his administration, but further stated: Of the big guys. I chose young people based on their acting ability and encouraged them, knowing full well that one day I would have to step off the stage and the young people would take over, whether I liked it or not. ”
Mohammed warned that leaders should be wary of the country’s future if young people are not trained to prepare them for future leadership roles.
