Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has criticized the policies of the current government led by President Bola Tinubu, saying Nigerians have not benefited from these reforms.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has called on the Tinubu administration to re-evaluate the existing monetary and fiscal policies, arguing that they are not working effectively.
Speaking at the launch of the Nigeria Development Update in Abuja on Thursday, Mr Muhammad said there was hunger in the country and reiterated the suffering of his people.
The PDP leader stressed the need for the government to adopt a more flexible approach and stressed the urgent need for reforms in view of the growing hardships faced by the people.
He pointed to the plight of ordinary Nigerians, warning that widespread hunger and economic hardship were leading to instability. He noted that even individuals in his position risk being attacked by disgruntled citizens.
Mr. Mohammed also stressed that current financial support is insufficient to combat widespread hunger and called on the federal government to develop a more effective economic strategy.
