The Ondo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has begun selling expressions of interest and nomination forms in preparation for the local government elections scheduled for January 18, 2025.
These forms will be on sale from September 30 to October 18, 2024, as announced by the state Public Relations Secretary, Mr. Oluwafemi Olalie.
Aspiring candidates are encouraged to obtain forms for various local government positions.
According to Olaleye’s announcement, NNPP provides the following to promote inclusivity:
50% discount on nomination forms for women, persons with disabilities (disabled persons), and young people under 30 years of age. Standard fee for expression of interest form.
Mr Olalie stressed that the NNPP values development, transparency and accountability and is committed to empowering diverse candidates to ensure representation from all sectors of society.
“The upcoming elections will usher in a new era of governance,” he said.
“NNPP is committed to grassroots democracy and broad participation in the electoral process.”
He also urged aspiring candidates to use this opportunity to engage in grassroots governance.
