All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Tony Okocha has accused Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubala of ruling the state with high levels of impunity.
Mr. Okocha warned that the APC would not stand by and watch the governor carry out actions unchecked.
Speaking at a press conference at the party secretariat on Wednesday, Mr. Okocha pointed out several circumstances in which Mr. Hubala allegedly acted with impunity.
He criticized Tomihara’s determination to proceed with local government elections despite recent court rulings.
Mr. Okocha vowed to take all legal action to counter Mr. Hubala’s alleged illegal activities.
He called on all institutions involved in local government elections to respect the law and appealed to well-meaning individuals to intervene and stop the governor from turning Rivers State into a lawless state.

Meanwhile, Hubala vowed that his administration would never succumb to any form of extortion.
He disclosed this in a speech he delivered on Tuesday during the 64th Nigeria Independence Day Parade at the Government House Arcade in Port Harcourt.
The governor declared that his administration would not bow to blatant intimidation by any individual or group, no matter how powerful they may be.
He stressed that the interests of the people remain his top priority and promised infrastructure development across the state.
Hubala, who is currently in political conflict with his estranged political godfather and predecessor, Nyesom Wike, said: We remain focused and dedicated to the interests of the nation, our dear Rivers State and the cause of our people. ”
He appealed to the people of Rivers State and his well-wishers across the country to “support us and stand with us on the side of courage, truth and justice since the inauguration of government till date.” He expressed his gratitude for what he gave.
Lamenting the country’s economic woes, Hubala called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu in his efforts to turn the country around.
“The vision of our Founding Fathers at the time of independence was to build a united and secure nation based on the values of brotherhood, democracy, justice and equality of all peoples, tribes and nations,” he said. Ta.
“Our leaders, past and present, have continued to do their best to unite our country and promote the progress and well-being of our people.”
He urged Nigerians not to despair but to remain hopeful for a bright future.
He also expressed his intention to work with the federal government to deliver the benefits of democracy to the people.
“We will work with the federal government to address economic, social, and political challenges, including judicial terrorism, nepotism, corruption, and abuse of power that undermine democracy, suppress economic growth, and disprove our people.” It caused untold suffering.
