The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are dead.
Rabiu Kwankwaso said President Bola Tinubu has performed very poorly since taking office and has distanced himself from the economic realities facing Nigerians.
The former Kano State governor said this while speaking at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mr Kwankwaso boasted that the NNPP has become the fastest growing political party in the country. He added that the PDP and APC were imploding and splitting up.
“Despite all the challenges, I am happy to say that today our party is the fastest growing political party in the country.I visited Katsina State for commissioning of the state office. I remember when I said that the two major political parties, especially the PDP, are dead and there are so many concerns within the PDP.
“When I made such statements, many of them must not have realized what was happening, that the party had shattered. Even if they didn’t understand it, I believe they will now agree with us all that the party is over,” Kwankwaso said.
Speaking on the leadership of the APC-led federal government, the former presidential candidate continued: The country is on the ground.
“At that level, whether we believe we’re doing well or not, all of us, especially the voters of this country, we think we should all be doing well, especially when we look at issues of security and the level of poverty in this country. I believe that the performance of this country is very poor, and of course the threat of hunger that we are currently witnessing in this country. ”
The former Defense Minister advised Nigerians to make the right choice in the 2027 elections.
