A close aide to former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has pinned the root of the party’s ongoing problems on the governor.
Atiku State Special Assistant on Digital Media and Strategy, Mr. Demola Olarewaju, has expressed concern on social media platform He said that.
According to Olarewaju, “Mr Wike’s presence in the Nigerian political space rests directly on his ability to rock the boat of the PDP and diminish its formidable power.”
“The governor associated with him is a traitor to the PDP and I would even go so far as to say that the governor is the root of the PDP crisis since 2015.
“Ever since the PDP lost Aso Rock, every major crisis in the PDP can be traced back to the ‘zoning’ of NWC offices to individual governors, which some saw coming in 2015 .
“Current tensions may or may not subside. Nationalists must be tactically flexible regarding their party platform.”
Naija News understands that Mr Olarewaju’s allegations come amid disagreements among PDP governors over the leadership of the party organization in Rivers State.
Some of these governors are for Governor Siminalai Hubala and some are for Wike.
