The South East Zone National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Odefa, has been suspended for allegedly anti-party activities.
Naija News understands that Odefa has been suspended by the Ogudu-Okwolu Ward Chapter of the party in Onitsha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The suspension, which is effective immediately, was announced after a meeting of the district executive committee in Abuja on Friday.
At a press conference in Abuja, the Acting Chairman of PDP Ogudu-Okwolu Ward, Mr. Herbert Onyedikachi, along with other members, gave details regarding the decision.
He noted that Odefa’s suspension was prompted by alleged anti-party activities and other acts deemed to be detrimental to the party’s reputation and interests.
He further noted that the District Executive Committee suspended Chief Odefa in accordance with Article 57(3) of the PDP Constitution.
Additionally, the commission referred Odefa to the District Disciplinary Committee for further proceedings.
“The suspension and disciplinary action is aimed at maintaining party discipline and upholding the values and principles of the PDP.
“The ward executive committee has asked party members to remain committed to the objectives and goals of the PDP,” the ward party leadership said.
