Sen. Aminu Tambwal, former governor of Sokoto, argued that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would regain its mandate from all Progressive Congresses (APCs) in the 2027 general election.
Naija News reports that Mutawallen Sokoto made the declaration Monday during the start of the distribution of Ramadan packages for residents of Sokoto.
The lawmakers emphasized the importance of solidarity within the party, and emphasized that the PDP will serve as a “united family” who has committed to restoring what was lost in the previous election cycle.
He argued that the PDP mission was “taken illegally” in the last election, but expressed confidence that the parties are actively restructuring and formulating strategies to regain their legitimate position.
“What has been taken from us by the grace of Allah will be returned in 2027,” Tambwal assured the assembly.
“We continue to pray for health and longevity so that we can celebrate Ramadan, the blessed month, and we would also like to express our gratitude to our party chairman and party leaders.
Early in the event, Sokoto State PDP Chairman Belo Goronho made a sincere thanks to all Sokoto party members for their steadfast support and confidence in the PDP.
He emphasized that he is the only party truly committed to the welfare of the Nigerian masses.
Goronyo pointed to the current challenges facing Nigerians and argued that such difficulties existed during PDP’s tenure.
He urged Sokoto and all Nigerian citizens to free themselves from APC’s “misgovernance” in the upcoming 2027 elections.
