Seyi Vibez has been highlighted as a standout artist on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Songs of 2024 list, with his hit single Different Pattern taking the number one spot. Released in December 2023 as part of the NAHAMciaga EP, the song dominated streaming charts throughout 2024, including those on Apple Music.
Apple Music’s annual list highlights the most streamed songs in Nigeria as part of the Apple Music Replay campaign.
Surprisingly, songs from 2023 are heavily featured in the 2024 ranking. Different Pattern took the lead, followed by Omah Lay’s Holy Ghost in second place, and Cast, a collaboration between Shalipopi and Odumodublvck, secured third place.
Kizz Daniel’s viral hit Tue Tue ranked fourth, while Sei Vives joins Kana for his second top five. Other notable songs in the top 10 include Wizkid’s IDK featuring Zlatan and Chike & Mohbad’s Egwu. TitoM and Yuppe were also recognized as the only non-Nigerian lead artists to break into the top 50 with their remix of Tshwala Bam featuring Burna Boy.
Of the top 20 songs, 14 were released in 2023, with 2024 releases specifically including Burna Boy’s “Higher,” Ayo Muff & Fireboy DML’s “Dealer,” Luger & BNXN’s "POE," Young・Contains John’s “Bahamas”.
The 2023 songs that had a strong presence in the Top 100 this year reflect the challenges faced by Nigerian music in 2024, describing this year as a year with far fewer fresh hits.
The lack of female artists in the top 20 has also attracted attention, with Ira Starr’s “Bad Vibes featuring Seyi Vibez” becoming the highest-ranking song by a female artist at number 24. This has sparked a debate about gender representation in the mainstream success of Nigerian music.
While Seyi Vibez’s chart dominance reaffirms his growing influence in the Afrobeats scene, this list provides insight into the trends that have shaped Nigeria’s music consumption over the past year.
