Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the November 16 Ondo State gubernatorial election.
Recall that Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of Ondo State on Wednesday claimed that the PDP is dead in the state.
Also, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that the South-West states will soon be captured by the APC after winning the Ondo elections.
However, Mr Makinde, speaking on Wednesday at Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government Area of the state, said Mr Ganduje and Mr Ayedatiwa would be shocked by the outcome of the upcoming governorship election.
Makinde led a campaign in Akoko district of the state, boasting that the PDP remained vibrant in Ondo State and was ready to win the governorship election.
he said: “If wishes were horses, everyone would ride horses. The people of South West Nigeria, especially those of Ondo State, are wise. Look at the crowd here at Akoko, the enthusiasm.
“On November 16, the people will tell him (Ganduje) that Ondo State and indeed the South-West is for the PDP.”
On Ayedatiwa’s statement that PDP is dead in Ondo, Makinde said, “Well, the stories they tell are cheap. You can say whatever you want, but the people of Ondo State will say it loud and clear on November 16, 2024. And then all of us in this country will hear it loud and clear.
“Go and write on November 16th, PDP will win and Agboola Ajayi will be declared as the next governor. This is not based on anything other than the people of the state. It is their wish and we We feel it all around us.”
