All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Efe Onfoburg has said the MPs who defected to his party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labor Party (LP) are making the right decision.
A former PDP gubernatorial candidate in Delta State said the PDP and LP are the least organized political parties in the country.
Efe Ofoburg said this in an interview with News Central on Thursday. According to him, the Labor Party, which is divided into factions led by Julius Habre and those led by Nenadi Ousmane, cannot succeed in court proceedings.
On the PDP, he noted that the former political party was fragmented by various interest groups.
“Mainly, you know that the most disorganized political party in Nigeria today is the PDP, followed by the Labor Party.
“So when I hear the Labor Party say they are going to court, I ask myself which Labor Party? Is it the Abre Labor Party or the Nenadi Ousmane Labor Party?
“Because today we have the old Labor Party with Peter Obi running for president and the Peter Obi Labor Party with Nenadi Usman as acting national chairman. So you ask yourself, who between the two? Will they go to court? So who is the real Labor party? In my opinion, that’s just a waste of time.
“So, back to the PDP, of course you know that it’s already dead on arrival. It’s a complete mess. It’s a complete mess. And you’re putting a lot of effort into it.” If you find yourself at a party, you’re doing your best, but the party is determined to ruin you, so it’s natural for you to make a move.
“For those of us who were once in the PDP and now in the APC, we consider the PDP to be our Egypt. I personally left Egypt two years ago, and many more still live in Egypt,” he said.
Commenting on the defection of Elhiatake Ibori-Suenu, a member of the Ethiopian East and West House of Representatives, Obburg said there was no genuine PDP member in the constituency.
The former Delta State House of Representatives member added that apart from local government chairmen and councillors, all other PDP members in the constituency are working for the APC.
“Currently, for example, in the Federal Constituency of Ethiopia, anyone who claims to be a member of the PDP party, please take that membership away from me. Let me put it on record. It is just an impersonation. If there is a PDP, it must be the local government chairpersons of both the Ethiopian East Local Government and the Ethiopian West Local Government and 20 councilors from their respective councils.
“All other people who call themselves PDP members today are fake. They are all APC, 100% They are working in APC. What we are doing is making the platform available. We will know the result by the next election. “What happened on Tuesday was just the tip of the iceberg of more to come. What we actually did on Tuesday was test the microphone,” he added.
