Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpeboro, on Wednesday (today) called on Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
Naija News reports that Mr. Okpebolo was also accompanied by his Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, on his visit to the Imo State Government House in Owerri. Senator Adams Osimhole representing Ed North; and All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo State Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe.
In his address to Governor Uzodinma, Mr. Okpebolo expressed his gratitude, mentioning the divine blessings and support from the Oba of Benin, King Ewuare II.
He also expressed his gratitude to Mr Uzodimma who played a pivotal role in his victory in the recent September 21 governorship election.
“We are here, along with our party leader, Adams Oshiomhole, along with my vice president and the state chairman of the party, to convey our deepest gratitude to you all.
“We stood for election and by His grace we won the election and I am here to tell you that the next step is the development of Edo State.
“We have the blessings of God and the blessings of the Oba of Benin. Today we are here to express our gratitude and greet you,” Okpebolo said.
Accordingly, Uzodinma expressed his determination to support Okpeboro’s efforts to provide effective governance to the people of Edo.
The Imo State Governor, who is the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, expressed happiness at the warm welcome Okpebolo received upon joining the PGF.
He directed the new governor to justify the trust placed in him during the election.
