STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Richmond County Orchestra celebrates its 26th anniversary season on Staten Island with an event, “An Afternoon of Rare Rhapsody, Elegance, Acrobatics, and Music,” with a free children’s music program for students and children. Masu. .
The performance will take place on Sunday, October 6th at 3pm at the College of Staten Island Springer Auditorium, 2800 Victory Boulevard in Willowbrook.
The program includes a performance by “The Saw Lady,” aka Natalia Paruz, who plays music on a carpenter’s saw. harmonica player Jiayi He, who appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” flying trombonist Julie Passano Krigsman, a musician and aerialist, and tonal troubadour Zoe Ray, a juggler, singer, and composer. The program also includes the Mighty String Demons, a youth ensemble specializing in stringed instruments.

About the performers
Jia-Yi He is a harmonica virtuoso who has won numerous awards at international festivals and competitions in England, Germany, Israel, Japan, and the United States. He has performed as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of China, the National Ballet Symphony Orchestra of China, and the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra.
The New York Mets selected him for their pregame show at Shea Stadium. He is a harmonica teacher at the Brooklyn School of Music in New York City.
Natalia Pals, the “Lady of the Saws,” has spent 20 years sharing the unusual art form of playing music with a carpenter’s saw. She has performed in musicals with the Israel Philharmonic, Westchester Philharmonic, Royal Air Maroc Symphony Orchestra, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and more.・I’ve been playing the Thor.
Flying Trombonist Julie Passano Krigsman is a New York City trombonist who performs a variety of genres with a focus on chamber music, orchestral music, and Broadway. She can be heard regularly performing with the Hudson Theater’s Merrily We Roll Along Orchestra and the Riverside Brass Quintet.
She stars alongside Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Daniel Radcliffe (Merrily We Roll Along), Jonathan Groff (Merrily We Roll Along), and Mary Testa (Most “Happy – In Concert”).
Zoe Rae Pravda, aka “The Tuned Bard,” is a juggler, singer, and composer who earned a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theater Writing from New York University.
She volunteered at the 2024 New York City Unicycle Festival, helping dozens of people try unicycling for the first time. She plays on QBAC’s drum line and plays “Connie” in La MaMa’s musical production “Betty and the Belle Rays.”
The Mighty String Demons, featuring Eric Michaels and John Michaels, is an ensemble of young string musicians whose members range in age from 8 to 17, founded in 1995 by director Sanchi Bobrow. They perform music by Bach, Vivaldi, Bartók, Dvořák, Puccini, and Brahms, and their repertoire also includes additional types of music such as Gypsy, Irish, and American fiddle pieces.
Alan Aurelia founded the Richmond County Orchestra in 1998. Tickets to all Richmond County Orchestra concerts are free for students and children.
