The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Labor Committee (NWC) has refused to implement the North-South Band Congress.
Naija News reports that this is known in a statement by Debo Ologunagba of PDP National Publicity Secretary on Saturday.
Dan Orbi, vice-president of the party’s north and south belt, along with Naisom Week, Minister of the Federation Capital Territories. Former Cross River Governor Donald Duke and others reportedly held a sash-shaped legislature in Cross River State.
In response, a PDP spokesman described the meeting as a social gathering.
He said the PDP has not had a South South Zone meeting.
His statement stated, “To avoid doubt, the NWC will be holding its authority under sections 31(2)(c) and ((c) and ((b)) at its meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2025. It is carried out in exercise. j) The PDP Constitution (amended in 2017) will postpone the South South Zone Conference’s actions from the early scheduled date on Saturday, February 22, 2025, making it even more possible. “Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution states that, in the event of an emergency, act on behalf of the National Executive Committee, subject to ratification of the National Executive Committee,” section 31(2).
