The Chief of All Progressives Congress (APC) Joe Igbokwe claims that President Bola Tinubu is the owner of the Social Democrats (SDP).
Naija News reports that Igbokue’s claims follow the ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El Rufai’s defence from the APC to the SDP.
In a statement Monday, El Rufai announced his decision to leave the APC and expressed his dissatisfaction with how the party is run.
“The people who currently manage and operate the APC were unable to acknowledge the unhealthy situation in the party, which led to my decision to leave,” Elle Rufay said.
Igbokwe warns 2027 presidential hopes
In response to development, Igbokwe considered running for president under the SDP in 2027 in a series of posts on his official Facebook page to recognize that Tinubu controls the party.
He writes: Ignore putting him in your own danger. ”
Igbokwe also referenced the 1993 presidential election and drew similarities between Tinubu and the late chief MKO Abiola.
In another post, Igbokwe re-emphasized his claim, saying, “President Tinubu was a senator under the SDP in 1993. He is the owner of the SDP.”
