Covenant University, a private university located in Ota, Ogun State, has emerged as Nigeria’s best university for the second consecutive year, according to the 2025 World University Rankings by Times Higher Education (THE).
Covenant is also the only Nigerian university to feature in the top 1,000 world universities list. The number of top-ranked Nigerian universities has declined for the third consecutive year, from three in 2023 to two in 2024 and one in the latest rankings.
