Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubala has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be the biggest loser in the upcoming local government elections as it will not participate in the polls in the state.
He made the remarks while addressing Rivers political players who gathered at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday in preparation for the local government elections.

His words were, “Go and do what the law requires you to do, as provided in the RSIEC Act, and leave the rest alone. As soon as it is issued, the government will take over and by the special grace of God the process will be completed within a few days.”
“As you know, in this election, I am the biggest loser because my party is not participating. That is true! But the highest As the governor, I have to comply with the court’s decision.
“That wasn’t the end of it. After the Supreme Court ruling, the president invited us and we came to an agreement for a 90-day compliance period. So even if my party wasn’t on board, The local council process must proceed for Rivers State.
“A significant number of you here are loyal party members who don’t get this benefit, but you still support us. So what’s the problem?
“Thank you for supporting democracy. I would like to thank you for upholding the rule of law. Thank you for supporting us in ensuring that Rivers State University remains a strong member of the community of states. I would like to thank you for that.
“I would like to thank you for standing with us and assure you that with your help, we will continue to fly the flag of Rivers State high.
“I want to say one last time: at this time, do not let anyone, any propaganda, any Alta movement, or any misinformation interfere with your spirit.
“I am glad to see you all in good spirits. Rest assured that the government will do everything it can to prevent Rivers State from descending into chaos,” he added.
