The Kaduna branch of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is frustrated by the recent exile of former governor Governor Nasir El-Rufai against the Social Democrats (SDP).
El Rufai’s departure from the ruling party was reported by Naija News, saying the former governor cited the inconsistency between his personal principles and the APC’s current trajectory as the main reason for leaving.
In response to the development, Kaduna APC secretary Yahaya Baba Pati assured that the party would remain unshakable in its purpose and not worry about El Rufai’s decision.
He emphasized that the party’s priorities secure election victory for President Bora Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 election.
Speaking with Kaduna journalists on Monday, Babapatte expressed confidence in the growing influence of the party, highlighting the steady influx of prominent politicians joining the ranks.
He dismissed concerns that El Rufai's exit would affect the strength of the state’s APC.
Baba-Pate said: Kaduna’s main focus is how to reach the state in 2027 to both President Ahmed Bora Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
“The APC in Kaduna is growing every day, deeming it flows into the party every day from the talent of politicians. So, based on the comprehensive governance of the governors in the state, we are not intrusive by those who have died by other parties.
“We are not disturbed and we will not lose sleep in Elrufai’s movements. The state’s party is growing more than before.”
