Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has hailed the “success” of Saturday’s local government elections in the state, while describing Rivers Governor Siminalai Hubara as a true democrat.
Mr. Muhammad, who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, stated this in a statement released by the Hubara Municipality Spokesperson, Mr. Nelson Chukwudi and made available to journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday.
He asserted that Rivers State is a PDP state, despite the fact that the 23 newly elected local government chairmen and councilors who were sworn in on Sunday were not the only from the party.
The governor also commended Governor Rivers for being proactive in achieving good governance at the local government level, irrespective of party loyalties or considerations.
“He does not have a PDP structure in the state for certain reasons and he had to go out to ensure that other political parties are allowed in the political space so that there is no vacuum.
“I think this is a lucky and creative thing and I’m very proud of him. Yes, we lost as a party and we want to get away from this,” he said. Ta.
Mr. Muhammad also assured that there is a possibility of reconciling the current crisis plaguing the PDP in order to achieve the desired unity within the party.
Meanwhile, Governor Bauchi State, speaking to the press after attending the oath-taking ceremony of the 23 local government chairmen in Rivers State, expressed his admiration for Governor Hubala’s active leadership.
“As the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, I commend Governor Siminalai Hubala for his unwavering dedication to strengthening democracy through inclusive governance.
“Talking to the press after attending the oath-taking ceremony of the 23 local government chairmen in Rivers State, I commended Governor Tomihara for his proactive leadership. His strategic acumen led him to navigate complex political challenges. capacity allows officials from a variety of political parties to serve at the local level, reflecting a commitment to nonpartisan governance.
“Despite the PDP losing its leadership in some areas, Governor Tomihara remains a loyal member of our party and his democratic principles are widely recognized. His approach to securing the position serves as a model for other governors.
“Based on my own experience in Bauchi, where we faced similar political challenges, I admire Mr. Hubara’s ability to lead effectively despite the complexities he faces. However, it shows how to overcome difficult political situations.
