Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who is the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, has revealed why Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike was not suspended by the opposition party.
Naija News reports that some leaders of the PDP have called for Wike to be suspended and expelled for campaigning against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections. Reported.
Wike is also at loggerheads with Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubala, which has led to divisions within the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Speaking to Daily Trust on why the party board is not taking action against Wike, Mr. Mohammed said, “We cannot suspend him without NWC’s involvement. Although we have influence as governors. , the BoT is just an advisory body, not a decision-making body. That is why we are working on solving this problem, not because we are against Wike.
“Even if Wike had officially joined the APC, I would still support his return to the PDP because he is a friend. After all, many others have left the PDP and important I am back in position.”
