Imo State North-South Idea Party House of Representatives member, Imo Ugochinyere, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Acting National Chairman, Umaru Damagum, is under the political lock and key of Nyesom Wike.
PDP leader, Mr. Ugochinyere, has blamed the former governor of Rivers State for the crisis in the state.
He said Damagumu should have taken action against Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Wike if he was serious about addressing the crisis in Rivers State.
In a statement on Thursday, the opposition coalition spokesperson added that Mr. Damagumu would not care if Rivers State sank in the political crisis gripping the state.
“Okasa is currently fighting for survival under the control of mere political errands of the APC due to the silence of PDP leaders against the errands of our party.
“Voices of silence and refusal to speak out as pro-Wike APC agents parading as PDP MPs fight a futile battle with the PDP government in Rivers State, including undermining PDP participation in elections. Did you notice that there is one? Is it the APC-backed fraudster called Damagun who marched as PDP chairman and usurped the North Central slot of PDP chairman?
“Damagun cannot speak because his master and pro-Wike groups have tight political control over him. So even if Rivers sinks, it is in the pro-Wike interest. We should sink it for as long as we can. Whatever they do, we won’t tremble,” Ugochiniere said.
The statement read on his X handle, adding, “PDP stop coddling these jokers, call an emergency meeting and let us throw them out, I repeat, nothing will happen.” Get your party back and stop acting like captured souls. Nothing happens even if I try. We’re all going to see them in court, but let’s do what we need to do now. ”
