Former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda has said President Bola Tinubu’s administration can save Nigeria from its perennial challenges.
He maintained that Tinubu was on the right path to get Nigeria out of trouble.
Mr. Yuguda was speaking on Thursday after a forum in Abuja hosted by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Energy, Mr. Olu Verheijen, hailed the President’s policies, especially in the power sector, as a beacon of hope for the country.
The former governor appealed to residents to be patient and see the reforms come to fruition.
Yuguda said previous governments had invested heavily in the power sector, but with little success.
However, he praised the current government’s interventions, remedies and incentives aimed at improving the distribution of electricity to the most vulnerable people.
He said: “As a forum, we have a duty to inform the public and know what we are achieving in government so that we can ensure that it is actually working.
“The interventions, remediation and incentives undertaken by the government to improve affordable electricity supply to the country’s most vulnerable people are truly commendable.”
Tribulation: Please remain calm – imploring Nigerians to become president
Meanwhile, the Presidency has appealed to Nigerians to remain calm and show understanding amid the ongoing economic reforms undertaken by the President Bola Tinubu administration.
Naija News reports that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Del Brus Yakubu, made the appeal on Thursday in Abuja in a speech to commemorate the 2024 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
The event was about ending social and institutional abuse and working together towards a peaceful and inclusive society.
Mr Yakubu said the Tinubu government was working hard to address the economic situation in the country.
She also appealed to Nigerians to support the administration in fulfilling its obligations and taking the country to the next level.
She said: “I want to use this platform to appeal to Nigerians about the current economic situation. Difficulties can be overcome and it is a gradual process.
“Please remain calm, be understanding, and support this administration’s renewed hope to take our country to the next level.
“I would like to assure Nigerians today that the present administration is working diligently and has put in place so many policies that will alleviate the hardships of our beloved country.”
