George Jackson has renewed his contract as music director of the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra for three years, extending through 2028.
Mr. Jackson will begin his tenure in September 2022 and is leading the orchestra’s 100th anniversary celebrations this season.

He added: “My vision for the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra has always focused on new music and commissioned works, building on the ASO’s reputation for supporting living composers and contributing to the evolution of orchestral music. I’m excited to go.”

Throughout his career, Jackson has performed with the Ensemble Novum Zurich Jackson, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Orchester de Paris, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, the Orchester National Opera Occitanie of Montpellier, and Rouen.
