The Bauchi State chapter of the Northern Youth Chamber has defended the senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district in the National Assembly, Shehu Buba, against the banditry charges leveled against him by Governor Bala Mohammed.
Governor Mohammed had accused Mr. Buba of being complicit in banditry activities that mislead the nation.
However, the Northern Youth Organization, in a statement issued by the acting provincial chairman, Comrade Mohammed Hussaini, said the charges against the senator were fabricated and false.
The youths accused the Bauchi State governor of disrespecting a respected lawmaker on the grounds that he (Mr. Muhammad) has lost political relevance.
“It has been on record for some time that the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Mr. Bala Abdulkadia, has launched a public political war against the only politician turned politician in Bauchi State, Sen Buba Shehu. This is a nightmare for Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
“Some of the political attacks on the senators by the governor were carried out at a political rally during a just-concluded local government campaign somewhere in Bauchi city, where the governor has publicly declared his intention to destroy Sen Shehu Buba’s career and also bring Sen Shehu Buba’s integrity into disrepute and disgrace.
“It will be recalled that a few weeks ago, Mr. Sen Shehu Buba challenged Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir to explain the palliatives he received from the Federal Government on behalf of the people of Bauchi State. Dew.
“Similarly, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has forced the Bauchi Emirate Council to revoke the appointment of the traditional title of Mujaduddin Bauchi which was formally and enthusiastically bestowed upon Sen Shehu Buba.
“However, Sen Shehu Buba did not bother to confront the governor on the grounds of the senator’s political maturity, sound moral background and decorum based on Islamic teachings, values and practices. ”
“As the people of Bauchi, we are fully aware of the culmination of Sen Shehu Buba’s contribution to humanity and therefore his gradual, systematic and unofficial political elevation from the Senate; 3 in Bauchi State through strategic and people-focused interventions. We have witnessed Senator Shehu Buba’s contributions across all areas of human life in our beloved state, including education, health care, human empowerment, and humanitarian service in general. The youth said the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will investigate Muhammad’s activities.
“The people of Bauchi State are also aware of the recent events in Toro Local Government Area where Governor Bala Mohammed unjustly threatened Senator Shehu Buba Umar against the traditional assembly of the state. , even promised to serve as a senator. Shehu Buba Umar is down.
“These and many other political witch hunts indicate nothing but sadness at the growing wealth and acceptability of Senator Shehu Buba both in his constituency and in Bauchi State as a whole.
“The governor’s calculated actions clearly revealed the fears and concerns he has about the impending decline in his political popularity and relevance, especially within his party and among political allies across the country. The governor is resolute in his deadly mission to destroy the political fortunes of Senator Shehu Buba, a delusional mission that will never succeed as far as the people of Bauchi State are concerned.
“This sinister plan, which is being carried out through political mischief and intimidation, is aimed solely at distracting the public from bad governance and corruption through mismanagement of public resources, lack of thoughtfulness and accountability. It is our firm belief that the same is true in governance and the absence of accountability practices in the Bauchi State government.
“We are aware of how the Bauchi State Government has transformed into a family business and that only family and friends have access to government contracts and other beneficial government services. We would like to clearly record this,” the youths added.
