The Chief Medical Officer, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Dr Wasiu Adeyemo, has advised women to prioritize their health by being breast conscious and especially checking for cancer status.Adeyemo, who is representing Dr. Ayodeji Oluwole and the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee LUTH, gave the advice at a lecture organized by the hospital to commemorate Breast Awareness Month (BAM) 2024 in Lagos on Saturday. I did it.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the BAM mark is marked every October to raise awareness about breast cancer. October is designated as Pink Month.
Pink Month is a month in which efforts are made to educate people about breast cancer, including early detection and the signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer.
BAM’s theme for 2024 is “No one should face breast cancer alone.” She said women needed to be more enlightened about breast cancer.
She said the more women know about breast cancer, the more likely they are to undergo screening and treatment, which increases their chances of surviving the disease.
