Governor of Benue State, Father Hyacinth Aria, has said that with the continued support of all the people of the state, his administration is on track to build a Benue that is peaceful, prosperous and a model of good governance for Nigeria.
The governor also congratulated the people of the state and all Nigerians for being resilient and living in peace.
Mr. Alia made the remarks during a live broadcast from the Benue State Government House in Makurdi to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
He reiterated his administration’s focus and dedication to the well-being of all citizens, but urged patience, noting that most government policies take time to see results.
According to the governor, “My administration is aligning this year’s celebrations with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and I have already committed to reducing poverty, zero hunger, quality education, decent work, and more. We are making progress in the field. All these initiatives are aimed at empowering all the people of the state to be productive and contribute to the development of Benue.”
He also supported the state’s large-scale infrastructure projects that bring communities together to improve living standards and economic activity, empowering farmers with needed inputs, security cooperation with federal agencies, and providing displaced populations with safe environments. stressed the need to invest in peacebuilding to integrate into the country. .
“As Governor, I am committed to your welfare and urge everyone in Benue and all over Nigeria to continue to support government policies and programs. These initiatives will improve our collective well-being. However, the full impact may take some time. Progress often requires the patience, understanding and cooperation of all citizens.
“I call on you to renew your hope in this government as we are committed to the progress of our state,” Arya said.
