The African Film Academy has announced the much-awaited nominations for the upcoming 20th African Film Academy Awards (AMAA).
The nomination announcement took place in Ikeja, Lagos, and was attended by the AMAA Chief Operating Officer, Raymond Anyiam Osigwe, representatives of the AFA Board of Directors, including Tony Ani, as well as jurors and members of the Jury College. A gala night was held. The producer is Kingsley James.
The 20th edition, in partnership with Lagos State, has the theme ‘Celebrating African Creativity’. Mr. Anyiam Osigwe gave an overview of activities such as the launch of AMAA Coffee Book, AMAA Africa Night of Legends, AMAA Meets Nollywood, AMAA Africa Fashion Show and Exhibition, AMAA Gala Night, etc. We emphasized the importance of milestone events.
The series of activities began with the announcement of candidates and categories carried out by the AMAA jury and judges.
The AMAA Coffee Book launch is scheduled for October 25th, followed by African Nights of Legends on November 1st. The awards ceremony and gala night will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Balmoral Convention Center, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja GRA. , Lagos.
Anyam Osigwe stressed that the 2024 AMAA aims to redefine awards on the continent while celebrating the brilliance of Africa’s creative industries.
The nomination announcement was hosted by popular TV host Bimbai Mtinghiri Ekpenyong. Distinguished attendees included Mr. George Anyiam Osigwe and his wife Chinyere, Mr. Kennedy Anyam Osigwe, NFVCB ED Dr. Shaibu Husseini and several industry luminaries.
