Americus Music Fest draws crowds to Jackson Street Depot.
Music Fest was held on October 19th. The SAM Short Line attracted visitors from Cordell. Kids played soccer by the warehouse, and food trucks brought everything from Greek food to baked goods. Vendors were selling a variety of art pieces.
Sadie Cannon spoke about her experience at a music festival. “They come every year and it’s the biggest music festival for us. . . It was an amazing experience like nothing we’ve ever had before. We invite anyone who wants to join us to have a great time.” “There is much work to do, for the children.”
Jill Cloverdanze told us what it’s like. “I love it,” she said of herself being a regular. “I moved here about three years ago and I’ve been coming every year and I love it. My best friend since seventh grade is from Lee County and this is my first time here.”
Ali Allisonne also shared her reaction when she first came to the music festival. “I really liked how multicultural it was. Just look at the flamenco dancers, the fire dancers, the art, and the atmosphere.”
She shared her highlights. “Music. I love jazz,” she said, adding that she also loves folk rock.
Katie Carceno also spoke about her first experience. “I think the weather is nice. It was a great experience to bring the community together. The music was great. The spoken word was great and a great opportunity for the kids to get out and have fun and for the adults to relax a little bit. is.”
When asked if there was any particular highlight, she said: “I think the girl who said the spoken word was really moving for everyone.”
Music and entertainment includes: Classic Soul, Ninos de Iglesia Touré Fuerte, Blake Gasle and Nicole Ciremi, Sumter County Middle School Choir, KP & the Sidewinders, American Gospel, The Good News Band, Flamenco, Seth Meadows – Band YO, Southern Jazz Collective, Mad Hatters Dance Group, Essence Band, Endless Entertainment, A2Z Party Band, and DJ Chilango.
