The Deputy Director-General, Organization Bureau, National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Isaiah Edegbo, has passed away.
Naija News reports that the party’s National Public Relations Secretary, Felix Moruka, confirmed the death of the National Secretariat executive in a statement on Tuesday.
Mr Moruka said Mr Edegbo, who hailed from Kogi State, passed away on Monday, October 28, in Abuja at the age of 48.
The APC chief said the deceased will be greatly missed.
The statement further added: “He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a degree in Civil Law (1997), Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2003, Master of Laws in Public Law in 2016 and is currently pursuing his studies. “We are in the process of acquiring it,” he added. I earned a PhD in commercial law.
“Despite being a lawyer by training, Isaiah Edegbo is known for his brilliance, thoroughness and reliability, which greatly contributed to the success of the party’s congresses, conventions and election campaigns.”
APC fires Okocha for trying to block Rivers’ LG assignment
Meanwhile, the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned efforts by factional chairman Tony Okocha to halt revenue allocation to the 23 local governments in the state.
The party said Mr. Okocha’s continued assertion of leadership status undermines the valid court judgment that removed the faction chairman and his seven-member caretaker committee from office. insisted.
Rivers APC spokesperson Darlington Nwawuju in a statement on Sunday stressed that the APC can no longer remain passive on political issues affecting the people of the state.
He further criticized Okocha’s court motion to suspend local government allocations, arguing that the measure seeks to destroy the livelihoods of countless Rivers residents who depend on the local government system.
