Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has distanced himself from the ongoing leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), an aide has confirmed.
Amid reports of suspensions and reverse suspensions that led to the intervention of the PDP Governors Forum, the Board of Directors and the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Publicity, Plank Shuaib, said that Atiku had no involvement in party disputes. Responding to a question on whether Atiku’s camp was mobilizing legal action regarding Judge Peter Riff’s order blocking the removal of the PDP acting national chairman, Shuaib said Atiku was implicated in the crisis. He said any claim to the contrary was bizarre.
