OAKS, Pennsylvania — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump turned a Pennsylvania town hall into a concert, singing and dancing along for nearly 40 minutes as his favorite hits played on stage.
“Turn it up. It’s a great song,” Trump told supporters as Jeff Buckley’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” blared from the speakers at the cavernous Expo Center outside Philadelphia. Ta.
“How about this? We’re going to play ‘YMCA,'” he said at another point to cheering supporters as the Village People song, a popular Trump song, began.
President Trump initially took some questions from audience members about affordable housing and the economy, but grew tired of the format after two people passed out in the audience and the show was interrupted for an extended period of time. It seems like it was.
“No more questions, let’s just listen to the music,” Trump said, directing his staff to play “two real beauties."
“Who wants to ask questions?” he added.
After dedicating Schubert’s “Ave Maria” to his father, a soldier killed in Iraq, President Trump decided to keep the music going, appearing on stage as songs by Sinead O’Connor, Elvis Presley and Guns N played. He swayed and gave a fist pump to his supporters. The Roses played.
As Ms. O’Connor’s haunting vocals for “Nothing Compares 2 U” echoed through the venue and her music video played on the screen, President Trump told the crowd, “Nothing compares to you.”
At one point, an employee walked up to Trump and handed him a card. The former president pointed to it and nodded approvingly. It looks like a new song selection has been made. Seconds later, “Rich Men North of Richmond,” a popular song among conservatives but described by singer Oliver Anthony as criticizing all politicians, brought the crowd to a climax.
President Trump’s press secretary Stephen Chan criticized his boss on X (formerly Twitter), calling him “unlike any politician in history.”

At a rally in Erie on the other side of the state, rival Vice President Kamala Harris played a clip of President Trump’s comments over the weekend, saying the military should deal with political opponents if there is chaos after the November election. He suggested that. The results are coming in.
“Donald Trump is becoming more and more unstable and less free,” Harris told supporters. “He wants unlimited power. That’s what he’s looking for. He wants to send the military after the American people.”
