Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, has announced the intention of governors elected on the platform of the party to intervene in the crisis rocking the main opposition party.
The Bauchi State Governor said the party’s National Working Committee would work with relevant organs of the party to resolve the suspension crisis.
Mr. Muhammad made this promise on Friday when he hosted party officials from the North East led by Ambassador Umaru Damagum who were visiting the Bauchi County Headquarters on a solidarity visit.
According to him, the PDP crisis, including all legal disputes, will be resolved to ensure that the PDP regains power at the federal level in 2027.
The Bauchi State Governor also thanked Ambassador Damagun and all PDP stakeholders in the region for their support as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, pledging to unite the party and live up to expectations.
Damagun earlier said his unofficial visit to the governor was to discuss internal issues within the party.
He assured Mr. Muhammad that he has the support of the PDP leadership and members in the North East to continue as chairman of the Governors Forum.
He also expressed optimism that the party would resolve all outstanding issues before the next general election.
“PDP is the only surviving political party in the country and we will reorganize to become stronger to take over the national politics,” Damagun said.
