Years after service interruption due to technical issues, the Oyo State Water Supply Corporation has announced that supply has been restored to residents in some parts of Ibadan, the state capital.
The corporation also added that repairs to leaking and damaged water pipes in the state are underway.
The Chairman of the Corporation, Mr. Elias Adeojo, also highlighted that major water supply and booster stations have been commissioned to supplement the water supply to Ibadan and surrounding areas.
Mr Adeojo cited Molete, Bodo, Labiran, Bayeruka, Eleele Axis and Bashorun Oluwo Nara as areas where water supply has been restored.
While he assured residents of improved service delivery, he urged them to use the services with caution.
Adeojo further added that efforts are being made to repair the facility as soon as it is discovered or reported.
“The agency under my watch will do everything in its power to ensure that the recently restored drinking water supply to Ibadan and its surrounding areas is maintained,” he said.
