Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have stressed the need for unity and a single voice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The call was made at a conference organized by Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government Area (LGA) technocratic body Diadem and PDP held in Lagos on Thursday to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th anniversary of independence.
Convener and aviation expert Dr Dayo Kayode stressed the need for members to put aside personal interests, saying that while political differences were normal, the interests of the party should come first. emphasized.
He also announced plans to register 100,000 organic members in various constituencies to boost the party’s chances.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, highlighted corruption, bad leadership, electoral corruption as key issues and understanding how nations are built.
He advocated an increase in enlightened voters and a return to the 1963 Republican Constitution.
PDP Leaders, Prince Muftau Oyerekan and Alhaji Isiaka Shodiya have highlighted the footprint of the PDP in Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Kwara states, etc. and appealed to Nigerians to give the party a chance in 2027. .
Shodiya vowed to replicate the membership project in his parliamentary area.
