The protesters gathered at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt on Thursday morning before taking to the streets to protest.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has accused Governor Hubara’s administration of pushing for local government elections on October 5, 2024, plunging the state into lawlessness.
The state APC caretaker chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, disclosed this on Wednesday during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the state capital, saying the party would not allow Mr. Hubala to descend into anarchy in the state. .
Mr Okocha said: “We are witnessing the descent of Rivers State into lawlessness due to the gruesome impunity of one man. The governor ruled this state and continued to rule with impunity. We cannot stand by and watch him rule the country into oblivion. We must inform the President and members of Congress of our plight.
“Instead of appealing the judgment of Justice Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, they are busy procuring further court judgments and orders. They have not even appealed the Omotojo judgment.”
He questioned the validity of the October 5 local government elections in the state, insisting that the APC would not allow Mr. Hubala to descend into lawlessness in the state.
