The Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yanko Yordanov, expressed interest in strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries and partnering with the Plateau State Government in agriculture, security, education and tourism for the economic growth of the state.
Ambassador Yordanov paid a courtesy call and addressed Plateau State Governor Caleb Muthofang at his former official residence in Rayfield, Jos State.
He said Plateau State has distinct advantages in agriculture and tourism due to its favorable climate, peaceful environment and hospitable people.
“We have identified three main areas of cooperation between Bulgaria and Nigeria, especially Plateau Region: agriculture, security and education,” said Yordanov.
He pledged Bulgaria’s commitment to supporting Plateau in the development of modern agricultural technologies to improve value chains.
In his remarks, Governor Muthofan expressed his gratitude for the visit and the proposed cooperation, saying that Plateau State is already cooperating with the Federal Government’s agricultural programs aimed at achieving food security.
