A political stakeholder and philanthropist, Comrade Igbini Odafe Emmanuel, has called for the intervention of the National Assembly to address the dispute between Governor Hubara of Rivers State and Nyeso Wike.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Igbini emphasized that Rivers State is a strategic business state for the survival of the country and stressed the need for peace to keep the state in check.
He said we came here to pursue my agenda of peace between God the Father and his trusted political son, Governor Hubala and FCT Minister Nyeso Wike, and the differences between the two. He explained that the purpose was to solve the problems and build a prosperous Rivers State.
He said he does not intend to limit himself to municipal elections, which now have a different orientation. But I would like to give you the basics to understand how it is stated and how we punish it in the state why it has taken on such a negative aspect that it has made the news in this country. I would like to build it.
“He further stated that I was surprised when I saw the news about their disagreement because I know very well that they are reliable sons and fathers.
“I was among the invited dignitaries and with them during a church reception with a hangover.However, within just a month, I learned about their controversy and again bombed at Rivers State House. It was a shock for me to learn that there had been a terrorist attack.Since then, I have conducted thorough interviews with both to resolve minor disagreements.
He revealed to me that Governor Hubala is ready for peace because of his godfather Nyeso Wike, which he insists we must achieve in order to maintain peace in the state. I emphasized what I was thinking.
“Unfortunately, the crisis in Rivers State is not only about Rivers State Governor Hubala and FCT Minister Nyeso Wike, but also about the incident of a third party who decided to cause mayhem in the state and detonate the situation between them. I want to make one thing clear.”
According to him, he has seen states like Lagos, Kogi and Delta states where sitting governors step down and show no interest in replacing them, so why is the case of Rivers different?
“Their reason is because of the rule Wike played in the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to win Rivers State for the All Progressives Congress APC in the 2023 general elections.” I have vowed to continue fighting on this point. ”
Therefore, the election has come and gone but no one should hide under it and cause more mayhem to the good people of Rivers State. We must maintain peace, he said. ”
He said the crisis could have ended if the National Assembly had stood up. The Constitution specifies that in the 11th session of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, the State Legislatures may perform their constitutional functions for any reason, and the National Assembly until the State Legislatures can reconvene. has said he will take over the state legislature. The constitutional duty is to enact laws for peace and good governance in the interest of the people.
“Rivers does not have a valid parliament because of an inconsistency in a state court ruling that says the 27 defeated members automatically lose their seats.”
