Heavy rains that started from Friday to Sunday morning have caused flooding in some communities in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, forcing the evacuation of over 80 households.
The incident caused complete confusion and panic among the people in the area as most of the affected people were stranded and seeking shelter.
Meanwhile, Nandur Solomon, a resident of Angwan Buwarat in Sabo Gida community, said in a telephone interview with our correspondent: The evacuees are currently staying with neighbors, friends and relatives. ”
Similarly, Intim Yohanna Nimiram, Sabon Gyida Regional Development Committee Secretary, who spoke to our correspondent, also lamented the unfortunate incident.
Nimiram, while appealing to the state government and other relevant agencies to come to the rescue of the affected people, acknowledged that several residents have been evacuated and are staying with relatives.
“We appeal to the Plateau State government and relevant authorities to come to our rescue,” he appealed.
